The Next Stage in the Fight for Freedom and Civil Rights
During the Freedom Convoy, we wrote on the “Polska Canada” portal:
“It is not true that the truckers were fighting only for their own rights — from the outset they declared that they represented all Canadians, and that they would not leave the convoy’s destination — the Parliament of Canada in Ottawa — until their demands were met. Canadians very quickly realized that the truckers were fighting for the freedom of us all.”
The Allison Inquiry is the next stage of that same fight: for civil rights, for freedom, and for the right of individuals to decide for themselves how they are treated and how they choose to protect themselves against illness. Back then, the objection was to vaccine mandates and restrictions on civil liberties. Now, on Parliament Hill, voices are being heard from people who suffered serious vaccine injuries following COVID-19 vaccination — and who, for years, had no forum in which to share their experiences. In Poland, the subject of vaccine harm is raised mainly by a handful of independent commentators and a few politicians. Official government websites remain silent, while continuing to encourage the public to get further “booster doses.”
In this context, the Allison Inquiry in Ottawa could prove pivotal. From September 8 to 11, 2026, an informal, four-day hearing is taking place on Parliament Hill (Wellington Building). It is chaired by Conservative MP Dean Allison, who represents the riding of Niagara West. The proceedings are being livestreamed. This is not an official government inquiry, nor a formal parliamentary committee. Its purpose is to create a “neutral forum” in which Canadians can share their own vaccine injuries, or those of a loved one, following COVID-19 vaccination. Members of Parliament and senators from any party are eligible to sit on the panel and may later refer questions to Parliament. Organizers report that more than 1,400 applications were received, with roughly 50 witnesses selected to testify. Testimony is being given under oath.
The first witness on September 8 was American senator Ron Johnson. Canadians testified afterward, describing neurological problems, organ damage, financial ruin, and difficulties dealing with the federal Vaccine Injury Support Program (VISP). One widely reported case is that of Carrie Sakamoto of Alberta. Organizers cite government data: more than 58,000 reported adverse events (over 11,000 serious), and more than 3,500 applications to the compensation program, of which only a portion have been approved, amid high administrative costs. They emphasize that many democracies held various COVID-related inquiries, while Canada has had no parliamentary process focused specifically on hearing from people reporting vaccine injuries.
The inquiry is being organized in cooperation with the Covid Testimony Association, lawyer Shawn Buckley, and Theresa Buckley.
The Allison Inquiry will not replace a government process, nor will it hand down a verdict — and that was never its purpose. Its strength lies elsewhere: for the first time in five years, someone on Parliament Hill is telling these people that they are being heard. For thousands of Canadians who spent years running into official silence and the indifference of bureaucratic compensation programs, that alone is a form of justice. Like the truckers in 2022, the witnesses in Ottawa are a reminder that democracy does not end at the ballot box — that citizens have the right to demand answers from a government that promised to protect them, and that lacked the courage to keep that promise. This is the voice of those who, for years, were denied a voice. And as long as it continues to be heard, the fight for the truth and for the dignity of the injured has not been lost.
